Evolution of a Dream

The invasion spreads,
Creeping over synapses;
Neurons fire and replicate
From a time before
The walls of her single cell
Were lined with shrouds.
Quicksilver branches
Become arms and legs,
And screams emerge.
Aeons later, the first ripple
Of a face appears inside her mind,
Sterile, voiceless, cold.
Emotions will come later.
The primordial flux
Of being one frenzied apparition
Locked up in time,
Reflected from desks and walls
And glowing screens.
She yields; she has no choice
And from a stranger, longer night
Evolves the dream.
...
Based on the evolution of life.

Wow, dude there's something about this idea and the fractal-y goodness [your work too?]...that seemed hella familiar. I think it's something reminding me of The Sandman series by Gaiman.

This sounds like a really scary evolution of a dream from being well...reverie-like to corporeal almost. It's so elaborate and chilling. I love how you made science sound so damn terrifying. Hehehe.
Great job!
